Q: What makes a bespoke couture gown so special?

Having a one-of-a-kind couture gown designed and created especially for you is the ultimate luxury in the quest for the perfect wedding dress.

At The Couture Gallery, as a bride you are very much part of the creative process and I therefore work closely together with you to incorporate your ideas and wishes throughout. Your wedding gown is created at our in house Atelier to your exact measurements ensuring the perfect fit and the highest standard of work.

Q: How does it work?

At your initial consultation I will personally meet with you to find out your initial thoughts about what kind of design and style you prefer, the type of wedding you are planning and to discuss the overall feeling and look you are after. We go through the dresses and gowns from the in store collection from which you can try on as many as you would like.

Due to my many years of experience, I am able to offer expert advise on design, colour, and styling possibilities etc, guiding you through new and different styles, you previously have not thought about. I always take down notes of your ideas and favourite designs, which I then can refer to when drawing up the sketches for the following appointment. Your second consultation is where we finalise the design of your dress, going through the materials, choosing the samples, discuss the sketches and ideas. We then take your measurements for your personal dress pattern and the couture process can begin.

Q: How many fittings do I need?

The first fitting is for the body toile where the dress and built-in corsetry is partly made up in a different material to check proportions and ensure the perfect fit. This is then followed by several silk fittings where depending on the design, any trimmings or adornments are added. At this point accessories, such as veils/ headpieces etc are also chosen, designed and created to compliment your dress, adding the perfect finishing touch to your over all look. As the bride you are very much a part of the creative process, and you might want to tweak the design along the way. As everything is made at our in house Atelier, we are able to easily accommodate these changes and incorporate new ideas along the way.

Q: How much should can I expect to pay?

Again, the final price will vary depending on the chosen design, however as a guide line our made-to-measure wedding dresses start from around £ 3.500,- and our bespoke couture gowns start from around £ 4.500,- and upwards. The majority of our couture clients will spend anywhere between £ 5.500 - £8.500,- for their entire outfit including veil and accessories.

Q: How long does it take to have a bespoke gown made?

The entire process usually takes anything from 6 - 9 months time from start to finish. Of course this varies from bride to bride as every dress is different and more complicated designs will require additional fittings.

Q: Any final thoughts?

The perfect dress is one that reflects your style and personality, highlights your beauty and makes you look and feel like a goddess on your special day. Truly, not just a dress, but the memory of a lifetime.
